Asian Development Bank
David was team leader for a programme undertaken for the Asian Development Bank, known as PROFIT (Promoting Regional Opportunities
for Investment & Trade), led by IMC Worldwide with core partners ASSIST and
Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The programme ran from 2020 to 2022. The objective was to support SMEs in India and in the countries of the Greater
Mekong Subregion (that is, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam) to begin to trade regionally. In some cases, that may be as simple as export or import. However, it could
also include firms forming joint ventures, perhaps to trade further afield, or licensing arrangements, or technology transfer. The programme suffered from the impact of covid but nevertheless achieved some excellent results. A full description of the programme, its results and lessons is available in a final report.
