Voluntary activities
I engage in a number of activites on a voluntary basis, as well as participating in organisations such as the RSA and the Institute of Directors.
Royal African Society
I am a member of the Royal African Society, Britain's primary Africa organisation, promoting Africa's cause. Through its journal,
African Affairs, and by organising meetings, discussions and other activities, the Society strengthens links between Africa and Britain
and encourages understanding of Africa and its relations with the rest of the world.
Oxfam Enterprise Development Programme
From its launch until 2014, I was a member of the advisory committee of Oxfam's Enterprise Development Programme whch seeks to invest in enterprising initiatives
which will support people to improve incomes and livelihoods through entrepreneurial activities.
Northern Youth Venture Fund
I am a trustee of NYVF. NYVF can provide business loans of up to £5,000 for a new start and up to £10,000 for a young business.
